We’re incredibly grateful to Skills for Care for previously funding a wide range of free training courses, helping us support the development of care professionals across Bedfordshire and beyond. Below is just a small sample of the free courses we’ve been able to offer thanks to this generous support.

*The Care Certificate is aimed at health and social care workers, both those already in employment, and those starting a new job. By attending the workshops you could complete all the knowledge based elements of the Care Certificate.

The training is mapped to the Care Certificate to ensure that it meets the industry standards and results in the highest quality of care. The Care Certificate provides really important and worthwhile training to help in your role, and promote your career development. It forms the building blocks to further progression to a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Come to our free Wellbeing Hub in Dunstable every week – Everyone is welcome

People in Dunstable love our free Wellbeing Hub. We’re helping people with advice managing energy costs and offering a whole host of free wellbeing activities every week. Our sessions provide practical money-saving solutions and support in a friendly, welcoming environment. Plus there are free refreshments including free tea, free coffee and free seasonal snacks. So come along to the Mayfield Centre every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Help for carers in Luton

We offer lots of free 1-2-1 help and advice by phone, email and online meetups.

Please consider donating to The Disability Resource Centre today so we can continue our vital services.

At The Disability Resource Centre, we can help you through this process. Our induction courses will teach you how to look after your employees and meet regulations.

In addition, we provide training to enhance the skills of your personal assistant, with general and bespoke training courses, all meeting the standards of the Care Certificate, as well as training in specific health conditions.

To achieve the care certificate qualification all our workshop attendees will need to arrange an assessment in their place of work, by their employer.

  • This free training is available for disabled people employing a personal assistant and their personal assistants.

  • If you are a newly-employed, or existing personal assistant, we will help you improve your skills in a way that is specific to your role.

  • Our courses are also available to external agencies. Please contact us for prices.
