Hire our cafe, wellbeing room and activity room.

Our suite of four interconnecting rooms are suitable for hire by non-profit organisations and community groups.

These adaptable rooms comprise:

– A comfortable and relaxing wellbeing room with sofa and padded chairs. Use it for your gentle exercise groups, support group meetings or an informal gathering.

– An activity room, that can be set up with tables for crafts or used as a gathering space.

– A cafe area with kettle and everything you need to provide light refreshments for your group, plus there’s plenty of seating around the tables.

– A private room off the wellbeing room can be used for confidential chats or advice sessions. This room comprises a desk and 2 chairs.

Good access to all major transport links including the new M1 junction 11A link road, which means it's just 5 minutes to the M1.

The Community Hub and The Disability Resource Centre

On Thursdays,The Disability Resource Centre hosts its event for older persons. The event includes craft sessions, gentle exercise classes, informative talks by experts in relevant fields and a good natter over tea and cake.  

On Fridays, The Disability Resource Centre holds a drop-in session for people interested in becoming a Personal Assistant in care. These personal assistants are employed by disabled or older people who need someone to help with their daily needs, both personal and social. Every week we have new jobs available for you to apply for, along with details of our training courses that can provide you with the skills you need for this very rewarding career.

New course starts in February. We have just started the first group on this course and we’re now looking for more Luton residents to join the next course that starts in February.

We know and understand how difficult it can be to find work if you are a carer. You may struggle to find paid employment that fits around your caring commitments. 

If you wish to return to work in some way, but are unsure how to start, then we can help with 1-2-1 support with our employment advisors.

You can hire a wheelchair from our charity. The Disability Resource Centre hires out manual wheelchairs (including children’s wheelchairs) and other equipment like ramps, rollators, crutches and walking frames to help you with your mobility.

 

Hire our fully equipped meeting rooms with free wifi, a digital projector, tea & coffee facilities, flexible room space and on-site parking for over 100 cars, including 12 dedicated disabled parking bays.

On this form-filling workshop (held most Mondays) you will have help and guidance to complete your PIP or AA (attendance allowance) claim form.

Every Thursday we offer expert help with seating and a full demonstration of all the chairs and riser-recliners we have in our shop. Our seating specialist is here to advise and help you choose the best seating.
