Giving Tuesday is 3rd December 2019

Today is also Giving Tuesday and our CEO Melanie Hawman said:
“As a small local charity I’m really hoping that on Giving Tuesday people will be able to help us continue to provide all our free services with a small donation to our funds.
I am so proud of all the work our charity has achieved this year.
We’ve helped 37,000 visitors with free advice, free workshops, disability equipment and all the free, practical information on our websites.
Not only are we a sympathetic listening ear for local people every month, we provide free services to help disabled people with finances, employment, wellbeing, caring, social activities and much more.

It’s always so encouraging to hear the lovely words from disabled people who leave us reviews of our services.

Here are just some of the words people have said about us in the last few months:

Sue said “Easy access, friendly staff, pleasant meeting rooms. Knowledgeable staff.”

Ashiq said “Excellent. The lady that had a chat with my lad was brilliant and very informative. Well worth the visit.”

Karen said “A one stop shop for everything from signposting to classes, equipment to benefit advice. Open for both mental & physical disability advice.”

Fran said “Very helpful, very reasonably priced with specialist equipment.”

Elaine said “Went to the Fibromyalgia support group meeting. Have been going for years. Very supportive.”

Nikki said “Excellent service and very helpful.”

Sue said “Great support groups; PHEW and CEDA.”

John said “Very helpful, amazing results.”

Suzie “Good place for items to help disabled accessibility.”

Shylet said “Good service to the community.”

Georgie said “Nice place. Been to a few events here.”

Dave said “Excellent service.”

All of us at The Disability Resource Centre, here in Dunstable, want to reach and help even more disabled people and people with long term health conditions, through 2020 and beyond.”

Donate

Please consider donating to The Disability Resource Centre today so we can continue our vital services.

Please help us.

Our charity changes people’s lives every week.

A donation of £5 could help us to run our community cafe for vulnerable older people in Dunstable. We know that our support groups and social events are helping many local people to feel less isolated every month.

Our free advice service costs our charity thousands of pounds to run every year. A donation of £5 could help pay for us to help the next local person to get the help and support they really need.

We helped over 4,000 people last month with information on our websites and a 1-2-1 free advice service.

A donation of £5 could help us to continue to run our services with many of them being free for disabled people & carers across Bedfordshire.

To donate £5 by mobile phone text:

Simply text DRCBEDS to 70085

Thanks very much!
