Local learners beat the snowy conditions

We held our Learning Fair for Adult Social Care last week and Melanie Hawman, the CEO of The Disability Resource Centre, said:

“We had many attendees mention that they found all the presentations and information really useful, even with the snowy weather, it was well worth the trip.

There were so many training courses (most of them free) to see all in one place. We were very pleased to welcome ten local and national training and career organisations to the fair”.

Overall we had over 70 attendees who took part in practical workshops and presentations talking through all the many training opportunities in the adult care sector.

Many local PAs completed a new online course that The Disability Resource Centre has recently launched.

Thank you to the following organisations for making the fair such a success:

  • Bedford College
  • Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service
  • Central Bedfordshire College
  • NHS: Cambridge Community Services
  • The Academy – Central Bedfordshire Council
  • Sight Concern
  • NOAH
  • The Recovery College NHS ELFT
  • Skills for Care
