Since 2015, the Care Academy has helped many people improve their skills and knowledge of the care sector and raise the overall level of service provided.
We have held workshops based on the Care Certificate modules by Skills for Care for hundreds of people over the last ten years.

The workshops and online courses included training for Personal Assistants (PAs) in care.
Our redesigned Care Academy, from May 2025, will be extended to include a wider range topics and be open to carers and anyone that wishes to learn vital care skills, as well as PAs.

- Place unconscious breathing casualties in the recovery position correctly
- Respond appropriately to choking, seizures, and other common emergencies
- Provide effective first aid for wounds, burns, fractures, and other injuries
- Recognise signs of serious conditions requiring immediate medical attention
- Document incidents accurately and complete required reporting procedures
Through hands-on practice with mannequins and simulated scenarios, carers will develop the skills and confidence to act quickly and effectively when faced with emergency situations—essential competencies within comprehensive carer training for all care professionals.

People in Dunstable love our free Wellbeing Hub. We’re helping people with advice managing energy costs and offering a whole host of free wellbeing activities every week.
