Disabled car parking spaces are available at our offices.

We are located in East Dunstable on the borders of Luton.
We have 2 entrances:

  • one at the front on Poynters Road for Blue Badge holders
  • another at the rear on Humphrys Road with general parking for visitors and staff

From the MI Junction 11

Take the A505 towards Dunstable and then turn right at the Halfway House roundabout and proceed up Poynters Road for approximately 1 mile. We are located at the top of the hill, just past a Shell Garage on the corner of Wilbury Drive on the left. Poynters House is the second building after the Shell Garage and has access to a dedicated car park for blue badge holders only. Turn left into the disabled car park if you hold a blue badge and make your way to the front of the building and into Reception.

If you are not a blue badge holder please follow these directions:

  • Continue past Poynters House until you reach a roundabout
  • Turn left into Porz Avenue and continue to the roundabout
  • Turn left at the roundabout onto Lovett Way, and left again onto Humphrys Road
  • Continue along Humphrys Road until you reach The Disability Resource Centre, which is clearly signposted. You are free to park anywhere, other than disabled spaces
  • Follow the yellow railings to the front of the building and make your way into Reception

From Dunstable

From the centre of Dunstable take the A505 to Luton. After approximately 2 miles turn left at a large roundabout with Tesco on your right and the ‘Half Way House’ pub on your left, and follow the instructions as above.

From Houghton Regis

If you are a blue badge holder please follow these directions:

From the centre of Houghton Regis and with ‘The Green’ on your right:

  • Continue straight until you reach a large roundabout with ‘The Chequers’ pub on your right.
  • Turn right at the roundabout along Park Road North until you reach a small roundabout
  • Continue straight across to the next roundabout, keeping in the left hand lane
  • Continue straight along Poynters Road, past traffic lights at a pedestrian crossing.
  • The Disability Resource Centre is on your right HOWEVER, as you cannot turn right into the car park at this point in the road you will need to continue on to the Shell Garage, where you will be able to turn right into Wilbury Drive in order to turn the car around

If you are not a blue badge holder please follow these directions:

  • From the centre of Houghton Regis and with ‘The Green’ on your right:
  • Continue straight until you reach a large roundabout with ‘The Chequers’ pub on your right.
  • Turn right at the roundabout along Park Road North until you reach a small roundabout
  • Continue straight across, but turn right at the next roundabout, onto Porz Avenue
  • Continue along Porz Avenue to a roundabout and turn left onto Lovett Way
  • Turn first left onto Humphrys Road and continue until you reach The Disability Resource Centre, which is clearly signposted. You are free to park anywhere, other than disabled spaces. Follow the yellow railings to the front of the building and make your way into Reception

By bus

The nearest bus route is the ‘Z’ bus from Luton to Dunstable. The bus will stop at the junction of Wheatfield Road and Poynters Road. Turn left onto Poynters Road and walk for about 300 metres.

Improve your confidence. Reduce stress.

New course starts in February. We have just started the first group on this course and we’re now looking for more Luton residents to join the next course that starts in February.

We know and understand how difficult it can be to find work if you are a carer. You may struggle to find paid employment that fits around your caring commitments.

If you wish to return to work in some way, but are unsure how to start, then we can help with 1-2-1 support with our employment advisors.

For 2020 if you would like to make a difference to your family’s life just make contact to see how our Support Into Employment programme may be able to help you.

Learn all about becoming a volunteer for our charity at our special new volunteer event on Wednesday 5th February 2020. Read more about volunteering at The Disability Resource Centre.
