Help with benefits

Help with benefits

We can help with general benefits advice for people with disabilities.

Every year millions of pounds of welfare benefits are not claimed.

We helped disabled people in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire claim over £1,000,000 in 2016/17.

Read what people have been saying about the disability benefits advice we provide:

“All very helpful with completing the PIP forms… and also the appeal forms and tribunal forms. Thanks to you I was successful”.

“Helpful and friendly”.

“We were helped to fill out the PIP form correctly first time and reduced our fears over getting it wrong”.

“Friendly and informative”.

“The benefits advisor that I saw was very helpful, and because of his help my husband was awarded Attendance Allowance”.

“Very informative and helpful”.

We can help with general benefits advice for people with disabilities and make appointments with the Benefits Advisors who can give more specific advice such as benefits checks and help with form filling:

  • Carers allowance (CA)
  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA) – for both children and adults
  • Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Attendance allowance (AA)
  • Personal Independence Payments (PIPs)
  • Disability premiums Severe Disability Premium (SDP)
  • Housing Benefit and council tax support
  • Incapacity Benefit (IB)
  • Tax Credits
  • Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)

People with disabilities of any age including children who live in Bedford, Luton and Bedfordshire may receive this free advice.

Improve your confidence. Reduce stress.

New course starts in February. We have just started the first group on this course and we’re now looking for more Luton residents to join the next course that starts in February.

We know and understand how difficult it can be to find work if you are a carer. You may struggle to find paid employment that fits around your caring commitments.

If you wish to return to work in some way, but are unsure how to start, then we can help with 1-2-1 support with our employment advisors.

For 2020 if you would like to make a difference to your family’s life just make contact to see how our Support Into Employment programme may be able to help you.

Learn all about becoming a volunteer for our charity at our special new volunteer event on Wednesday 5th February 2020. Read more about volunteering at The Disability Resource Centre.
