Moving and Handling with hoist training

Next training sessions will be announced very soon.

What’s covered?

The Level 2 Moving and Handling with hoist training session is a 4 hour course and is comprised of two parts.

The first part is a presentation, looking at the theory around moving and handling, which covers:

  • Statistics of back pain/injury
  • Legislation relating to moving and handling
  • Risk assessment
  • Principles of safe handling and back care advice (and of course techniques which have been banned)

The majority of the course is a practical session, where there will be demonstrations of how to use different pieces of equipment such as slide sheets, handling belts, rota stand, transfer boards and slings.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to use an electric hoist, which is an essential part of completing the training. There will be many opportunities to reinforce your learning and ask our expert trainer any questions.

Upon completion of the training and workbook, all attendees will receive a certificate confirming they have passed the course.

All training uses the same equipment as supplied by statutory services. Current legislation explained.
