Free training for Personal Assistants in care at The Disability Resource Centre

The Disability Resource Centre’s Care Academy recognises the dedication of Personal Assistants (PAs) and offers free workshops designed to enhance your skills, build confidence, and ultimately, elevate the standard of care within our community.

Funded by Skills for Care, the Care Academy has been a valuable resource for Personal assistants in care since 2017.

Our curriculum is based on the respected Care Certificate modules by Skills for Care, guaranteeing a high-quality learning experience. Whether you are an experienced PA seeking professional development, considering a career in care, or an employer wanting to understand the PA role better, our training offers valuable insights and practical skills.

Our free care skills training workshops run all the way to April at Marsh Farm, Futures House, LU3 3QB and online. 

So here is a snapshot of the next free workshops up to Christmas:

Date: Tuesday 26th November

Venue: Marsh Farm Futures House, Luton, LU3 3QB

  • Morning Class: 10am to 1pm – Infection, Prevention and Control
  • Afternoon Class: 2pm to 4pm – GDPR and Handling Information

 

Date: Tuesday 3rd December

Venue: Marsh Farm Futures House, Luton, LU3 3QB

  • Morning Class: 10am to 1pm – Health and Wellbeing
  • Afternoon Class: 2pm to 4pm – Introduction to Being an Employer and DP Support

 

Date: Tuesday 10th December

Venue: Marsh Farm Futures House, Luton, LU3 3QB

  • Morning Class: 10am to 1pm – Autism Awareness
  • Afternoon Class: 2pm to 4pm – Visual Impairment

 

Date: Tuesday 17th December

  • Morning Class: 10am to 1pm – Palliative and Advanced Care Planning
