Discover palliative care with Keech Hospice Care: Join our awareness and planning session

The Disability Resource Centre is delighted to be working in partnership with Keech Hospice Care. We will be delivering an advice and awareness session on Tuesday 26th March 2024 from 9.30am to 4.30pm as part of the Care Academy, funded by Skills for Care.

It will be delivered at Keech Hospice Care, Great Bramingham Lane, Luton LU3 3NT (See on Google Maps)

Learn more about palliative care and advanced care planning

Ensuring a fulfilling life and promoting independence are paramount to us. Keech Hospice Care, experts in palliative and end-of-life care for both adults and children, offer free specialised care for those with life-limiting and terminal illnesses, as well as support and advice for the friends and family.

Within this session, you will be given advice and support on how to prepare and plan ahead for end-of-life care, and information on designing a care plan that supports the person and their families. The morning will focus on what hospice care is and in the afternoon, we will take a look at how to communicate compassionately.

Throughout the session, we’ll address key questions, such as:

  • Why should you plan ahead for your end-of-life care?
  • What is a care plan?
  • What is palliative care and how will it help?
  • What support and care advice can be accessed through Keech Hospice and The Disability Resource Centre?
  • What other support networks and communities can be accessed?
