We had a very busy Carers Week…

On Monday we had two events. We held our regular online Carers Coffee Morning in the morning and in the afternoon we ran an online event with NHS England.

Over 20 carers and friends from the Luton area enjoyed the opportunity to hear from NHS England and our Carers Central team. There was plenty of interaction, with chances to provide feedback. We hope to run similar events online and in-person in the future. Please let us know what topics we should cover.

We were in St Georges Square in Luton on Thursday saying hello to many local unpaid carers who had come along to our gazebo to ask us questions about benefits, carer’s breaks, help with form-filling, mental health support and more.

In the evening, Levi (our Carer Support Adviser), was chatting on the radio about all the ways we can help carers in Luton.

And on Friday we held a special online meet-up for anyone looking for a career in caring; explaining how our Support into Employment programme can guide you and develop your skills; to prepare you for employment or further learning.
