And BBC Sport also covered the great news that “Hannah Cockroft and Aled Sion Davies retained their Paralympic titles as Great Britain enjoyed a successful final day in the track and field events at the Tokyo Paralympics”

The Independent said “Biggest sports gamble in history pays off as Great Britain inspires another generation in Japan

And The Guardian featured the closing ceremony with photos and a full round-up of the festivities at the end of the games.

The Independent has updated their Paralympics page for day 9 with a story about “Dame Sarah Storey (who) made history on day nine of the Paralympics by winning a 17th Paralympic gold medal to become the country’s outright most successful para athlete of all time.


Day 8

Friday 27th August


Lee Pearson has won gold again in the dressage individual test (Grade II). Fellow ParalympicsGB star Georgia Wilson claimed gold in the same event. Watch this video from Channel 4 Sport:

Sky Sports reports: ParalympicsGB ready to chase target of 100-140 medals

Ellie Simmonds will be one of the flag bearers for ParalympicsGB at the opening ceremony.


The TV coverage of the Paralympics starts at 11.30am this morning 24th August on Channel 4 and online.
