Important message for our Luton Direct Payment employers, PAs and agencies

Please read this important message if you are: A Luton Council Direct Payment recipient, a Personal Assistant working for a person funded by Luton Council and a care agency supporting Luton Council funded clients.


We have been receiving many calls, in relation to the recent change that Luton Council have made to Direct Payments and holding accounts.

We want to support you as best as possible through this change. However, in some cases we may need to refer you to alternative locations to gain the information you require. Please see our update on the most common concerns at this time.

Direct Payment recipients funded by Luton Council 

If you have not yet received your pre-paid card or you have not yet received finances into the account, please contact the Luton Council Direct Payments Finance Team on: 01582 546650

Personal Assistants working for an employer funded by Luton Council 

There have been some changes that may affect you. If you previously received your payment from The Disability Resource Centre this will not continue.

The possible ways you will receive your payment in future are:

  1. Your employer will have been issued with a pre-paid card with the funds to pay you themselves
  2. A different company will be making the payment to you on your employer’s behalf

Please check with your employer how you will receive your payment moving forward.

Agencies providing support to Luton Council funded clients

If we previously paid your invoices, then we will process invoices relating to support provided up to and including the 31st March 2021.

For details on where to send invoices for support provided from 1st April 2021 onward, please clarify this with your client.

If you have been moved over to a pre-paid card and you have still not signed our payroll Service Level Agreement, then please do contact us as soon as possible to arrange.
