Visit the Skills for Care website

Skills for Care has been kindly funding training programmes at The Disability Resource Centre since 2017.

Our partnership has enabled over 750 local Personal Assistants in care (or PAs) to learn vital skills and join the care sector in The Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes area.

Many PAs have returned to our online or in-person training workshops to top-up their skills or fill-in any gaps in their skills.

When the training is running it is available for:

  • Personal Assistants (PAs) already employed by someone to provide their care, will be able to develop their existing care skills and work through the workshops that underpin the knowledge of the Care Certificate
  • Aspiring PAs who want to start a paid job as a Personal Assistant
  • Individual employers who hire a Personal Assistant for their care, will learn about their role and the responsibilities of being an official employer and how The Disability Resource Centre can support you with this
