Helping disabled people’s voices to be heard

We fully support the work and recommendations published today (27 July 2022) by The King’s Fund in the report:

Towards a new partnership between disabled people and health and care services: getting our voices heard

They say “Disabled people’s voices need to be valued and prioritised in the planning and delivery of health and care services. This long read sets out the findings of research carried out by The King’s Fund and Disability Rights UK into how disabled people are currently involved in health and care system design, and what good might look like.”

The King’s Fund have produced the report in these formats:

Help us to develop our services for disabled people in Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Luton and surrounding areas

The Disability Resource Centre has a research panel of 84 local people who help us to develop better services. We call the panel our ‘Experts by Experience’ who are invited to participate in research projects with our local community and stakeholders. The projects range from simple online surveys to group workshops and 1-2-1 interviews, all helping to shape future services and strategies.

If you have experience of living with a disability or long term health condition and would like to join the Experts by Experience research panel then please contact us anytime.
