Community Central: A vibrant hub of support, learning, and connection that has enriched over 600 lives

5th June 2024

Congratulations to R.K. who won the £30 Amazon voucher in our free prize draw. This was randomly drawn on Saturday after all the entries to our Local Services Survey were received. We had a good response to the survey with many people providing information about all the ways they benefited from our popular Community Central programme.

3rd June 2024

At The Disability Resource Centre, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the incredible journey of Community Central, a vibrant hub of support, learning, and connection that has enriched over 600 lives.

Reflecting on remarkable moments

Over the last year, Community Central has flourished as a space where every individual could find support, education, and a sense of belonging. Held at community centres across Luton, our initiative has been a testament to the power of community and the transformative impact of coming together.

Praise for our team members, like Sally’s professionalism and the invaluable guidance from Kelly, reflects the heart and soul poured into this initiative. The gratitude and satisfaction expressed by our participants demonstrate the meaningful difference Community Central has made.

Looking ahead

Community Central’s activities are currently paused, while we apply for new funding. We do so with a sense of gratitude for the journey thus far and anticipation for the future. This intermission is an opportunity for growth and strengthening the foundation of this initiative. Our dedication to our community remains steadfast, and we’re excited about the prospect of coming back with new ideas, enhanced services, and even more ways to support and uplift each other.

We remain committed to keeping you informed and connected during this period. Your stories, achievements, and feedback continue to inspire us, and we hope to be back with more Community Central meets soon.

A sincere thank you

To everyone who has been a part of Community Central, your engagement, support, and shared moments have been the highlight of our initiative.

Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being an integral part of our community.
