Problems at our Mayfield Road, Shop and Centre

Our CEO Melanie Hawman and Operations Manager Clare Copleston, and the whole team, are working with the support of the Dunstable Town Mayor and local community to find alternative space to operate our face-to-face services in the Dunstable area.

We have been amazed by the community spirit, and are using a partnership model, to create an even better service for disabled people, so watch this space for more details, including our Winter Warm Hub.

Melanie says “Since August this year, not one but two doors have closed. First at our Shop (in August, due to a flood) which was down to insufficient care and attention in waste disposal, beyond our control. We quickly moved some of our operation and continued to deliver a modified service from our other unit.

Then yesterday, at the Centre, the front door came off, literally! It was so broken it was condemned. We are hoping to find a bespoke replacement as soon as possible so we can reopen the Centre.

Then we can restart the face-to-face advice services, the Winter Warm Hub, and the many workshops and services for disabled people we are famous for. Our telephone and email services are still fully operational so please give us a call or email us”
